Goshen County Wyomingby Tom AshworthCheyenneNortheast of Cheyenne 65 miles and 6 miles west of the Nebraska line in T19N R61W, is the Goshen Hole Placers, which embraces about 10,000 acres of watercourse, bench and terrace gravels. This is extremely fine placer gold. Jay ElmWest of Jay Elm and .5 miles west of the highest peak in the Rawhide Buttes at corner of sections 2, 3 10 and 11 T30N R64W, is the Copper Belt Mine Company Mine. This was primarily a copper mine, but produced a by product of gold. You will also find the Omaha Mine and the Gold Hill Mine in the same area. The Emma claims had some gold showings. |
