Thanks for the info and the site. I'll be back. We have gold in S.C. - maybe someday I'll find it. On second thought - if I sell enough gold pans and metal dectectors - maybe people will start paying in gold. At my age that may be the only way I accumulate enough to see with my trifocals. Wave

about Tom Ashworth`s : how to use Aqua Regia to purify gold sounds like good info except for temp. of refining for Ag, & Au the temp. for Ag/silver is 1050 degree C./or 1922 degree F. & Au/gold is 1150 degree C./or 2102 degree F., (also Pd could be present in Aqua Regia sol.) and silver drops out of aqua regia sol. from the HCL but in a small amt. dillite with water and more silver drops out. I like using Ammonium Oxalate to precipitate gold.

i am a fellow treasure hunter, although i am from the great state of north central indiana. i have not yet found any gold from the rivers here, but have found plenty of black sand. i use a whites xlt detector most of the time for coin and relic hunting and have done quite well. good luck in your searches and i might see you on the creek banks!! Smile
