K-8 MILL CREEK CLAIMSLOCATIONRIVER:Klamath RiverCOUNTY:Siskiyou CountySTATE:CaliforniaThe up river boundary is located about three miles down the Klamath from its confluence with the Scott River. The boundary is posted next to fenced private property several hundred feet up river from the confluence with Mill Creek. There is a short access road to the upper end of the claim, which the private property owner also uses as a driveway. The lower boundary is located about half mile down river, near where a culvert passes underneath Hwy. 96 A boundary sign is posted on a tree alongside the Klamath River. There is a small camping area along side the highway near Mill Creek PROSPECTSAlmost no mining activity has yet to take place on these claims, even though dredgers have done well just up river, on the highway side. This is also the lower end of the historic Hamburg Mining District --- which had a very rich history. |
