Granite Canyon

Granite Canyon is located in the Silver Crown district. Northwest of the Simmon's Ranch, on Middle Cow Creek, is the Lenox Mine. .25 miles southwest of the Lenox Mine, close to the bank of Middle Cow Creek, is the Julia Lode. .25 miles northwest of the Julia, is the Agata Prospect, which produced some spectacular specimens of native gold. 2 miles north of Granite Canyon is the Great Standard Group of mines. Out 4 miles from Granite Canyon, in sections 25 and 26 T15N R70W is the Arizona Mine. Many other mines in the Granite Canyon area.

Hecla

Hecla is 7 miles from Granite Canyon and is the location of the Yellow Bird Mine. At the Yellow Bird Mine on dumps you can still find traces of gold in pyrite. In section 24 T14N R70W is the Hecla Mine. In section 22 there are many other mines.

Laramie

Northeast of Laramie, to an area 8 miles west of the Platte-Laramie county lines, 45 miles north of the Colorado border, is the Horse Creek Placers. This placers are in Tertiary stream gravels.
