The most likely spots to prospect are in the Eastern part of the county. The White River and its tributary, Silver Creek would be my choices. Morse Creek or Silver Creek may be a good choices if you want to find bigger nuggets.

Campbell Mine

In the far east part of the county, adjacent to the Yakima County Line, in the Summit district, Township 17N Range 10E, on the south end of Crystal Mountain, at head of Silver Creek, is the Campbell Mine. it can be reached 3 miles by trail from the end of the Morse Creek Road. It consisted of 5 claims for lode gold.

Current Mine

In the far east part of the county, adjacent to the Yakima County Line, in the Summit district, Township 17N Range 10E Section 35, is the current Mine. It consisted of 9 claims that produced lode gold and silver.

Morse Creek Placers

In the far east part of the county, adjacent to the Yakima County Line, near the head of Morse Creek, is the location of the Morse Creek Placers.

Ogren Placer

In the far east part of the county, adjacent to the Yakima County Line, in the Summit district, Township 17N Range 10E Section 12, is the location of the Ogren Placer.

Silver Creek Mine

In the far east part of the county, adjacent to the Yakima County Line, in the Summit district, Township 17N Range 10E Section 25, is the location of the Silver Creek Mine. It can be reached by trail from end of road up Silver Creek. It was a lode gold mine.

Silver Creek Placers

In the far east part of the county, adjacent to the Yakima County Line, in the Summit district, Township 17N Range 10E Section 25 NE 1/4, is the location of the Silver Creek Placers. It produced coarse gold nuggets and was very productive.

Washington Cascade (New Deal) Mine

In the far east part of the county, adjacent to the Yakima County Line, in the Summit district, Township 17N Range 10E Section 25, is the location of the Washington Cascade Mine. It can be reached 7 miles by road from the Chinook Pass highway. It produced lode gold and silver.
